Abstract
The pre-Columbian collection of Florence Museum of Anthropology and Ethnology was donated by the Italian medical doctor Oscar Perrone in 1883. The collection, even if functionally heterogeneous, has a strong aesthetic appeal. The nucleus of the collection contains objects of great historical, archaeological and anthropological value. However, the collection is only partially exhibited within the museum itinerary and has never been comprehensively studied. This research aims to more systematically analyze the collection and reconstruct historical journey of the artifacts through the words and actions of various individuals that delt with the collection and provided us with their precious testimony.
