In the margins it critically analyses the proposals contained in the book, aimed at overcoming the rationalist approach and founding one post-topographic, able to express cultural values and the social sense of place. The article concludes with a reflection on the requirement for the universal legibility of the map, and on the relationship between the subject and object of representation, that current trends are rapidly transforming.
