Abstract
The food public procurement is considered one of the main tools for rebuilding the relationships between food and territory in the field of Urban Food Planning. Public food purchases are in fact one of the most important levers held directly by the government to drive the market and contribute to sustainable and economic development, public health, social justice, education, etc. This contribution presents the results of a research on school canteens in the territory of the Metropolitan City of Turin, in order to define a conceptual framework and to evaluate the potential impacts of schools’ food procurement in terms of environmental, social and economic sustainability.
