Abstract

In 1924, the ship Italia set sail for Latin America with the purpose of promoting the commercial and ideological interests of Mussolini’s government. Mexico attracted special attention from this mission, being a privileged place to observe the evolution of a post-revolutionary nationalist regime that fascist Italy watched with interest. Therefore, this article analyzes the stage of the Italia ship in Mexico, through the narrative of its press chief, Piero Belli, revealing the historical, cultural, and critical context in which the diplomatic mission unfolded.
