Abstract

Gli studiosi hanno in gran parte ignorato le opinioni di Engels sulla moralità, anche se esiste un’ampia letteratura sulle affermazioni di Marx, o sulle sue posizioni implicite, in merito alle questioni morali. Eppure anche i commenti di Engels sulle questioni morali meritano la nostra attenzione, poiché i suoi scritti aiutano a chiarire il carattere di classe e la natura ideologica delle visioni morali; spiegano perché i marxisti ritengono che la visione morale del proletariato rappresenti la moralità più avanzata; e forniscono le basi per rifiutare le spiegazioni eccessivamente riduzionistiche dei fenomeni morali spesso associate al marxismo. Nel loro insieme, le idee di Engels gettano le basi per una visione tipicamente comunista della moralità e delle questioni morali.
