La pittura su tavola nel basso Medioevo fra tradizione e nuove opportunità (con particolare attenzione alla Toscana)

Abstract

The contribution presents a systematic and synthetic overview of the most important typologies of late Medieval panel painting in Italy, particularly in Tuscany. Discussed are: painted crosses, panel paintings of the Virgin enthroned with the Child, panel paintings of saints, and altar paintings (altar frontals, dossals, polyptychs). Attention is also paid to the function and the spatial context of the objets.
