Abstract

The major theme of this special issue volume is “The History of The Periodic Table, the Discovery of the Elements, and of the Materials that Changed the Course of History: The Development of the Periodic System and Its Consequences.” After a brief chronological retrospective on the development of the periodic table, each paper contributed to this volume will be summarized, with some editorial comments.
