Abstract
The column A Drawing from the Past presents in this monographic issue a work by Nello Bemporad from 1934: a Tuscan capital and Attic base, drawn in pencil during the course of Applications of Descriptive Geometry at the School of Architecture in Florence. The exercise, focused on the theory of shadows, reflects the rigorous technical training provided in those years. The author, later an architect and superintendent, takes part in the debate on architectural restoration in Tuscany through significant projects and studies carried out from the post-war period to the 1980s.
