Abstract

Although described as “of the present”, this research in fact dates back to 2011. Only a few months ago, however, it was possible to fully verify its results, and for this reason, it may still be considered current, as until now it had not been possible to clearly assess the outcome of the experimentation.
The object of the study is the dome of the Monastery of New Jerusalem, a complex founded in 1656 by the Orthodox Patriarch Nikon and conceived as a spiritual residence and the fulcrum of patriarchal authority, located on the outskirts of Moscow.
